COUPLE'S BEGINNER PISTOL (100) CLASS

Calling all husbands and wives, parents and children, partners, friends, and family members… are you looking for something new to do on a date? Do you want to learn a skill that you and your significant other can do other than dinner and a movie? INTRO TO CARBINE RIFLE (100) CLASS

This three (3) hour class explores the operation of the AR platform rifle and gives an overview of direct gas impingement and piston driven operating systems. We also cover firearm safety, shooting fundamentals, stance, grip, breathing, loading and unloading your rifle. 

 

This class is for the shooter who has never fired an AR or is new to using an AR style firearm. We will give you a solid foundation on how to operate your AR rifle and prepare you for more advanced AR shooting skills and rifle manipulations.

 

Required prerequisites: None

Required equipment:  AR style rifle, 2 magazines, approximately 100 rounds of ammunition, eye, and ear protection.

Recommended equipment: A reliable sling is strongly recommended for this class. Plate carrier, vest, and/or magazine pouches are optional.

CARBINE RIFLE SKILL BUILDER (101) CLASS

This three (3) hour class builds on our Introduction to Carbine Rifle (100) Class or those who are new to the platform. We review firearm safety, shooting fundamentals, stance, grip, loading, unloading, and then learn how to reload, clear a variety of rifle malfunctions.

This class is for the shooter who is familiar with the AR style firearm or has completed our Carbine Rifle (100) Class. We will add to your AR rifle skills and give you additional skills and drills to practice and master!

Required prerequisites: Introduction to Carbine Rifle (100) Class or equivalent experience with a Carbine rifle or AR style platform.

Required equipment:  Students should bring an AR style rifle, 2 magazines, approximately 100 rounds of ammunition, eye, and ear protection. A reliable sling is required for this class. A plate carrier, vest, and/or magazine pouches are recommended.

LADIES BEGINNER PISTOL (100) CLASS

Sorry guys, this one is for ladies only! This four (4) class covers firearm safety and shooting fundamentals in the classroom and then it’s off to the range. We cover grip, stance, ready positions, loading, unloading, shooting drills, and more all at a controlled and comfortable pace designed for the new shooter.

 

This is the perfect class if you have never fired a gun or need a refresher. This course will give you a solid foundation in firearm safety and basic shooting skills which you can build upon in more advanced classes.

This course combines classroom and range-time learning how to shoot semi-automatic pistols. Students learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling, pistol parts and operation, ammunition types, shooting fundamentals, range rules, shooting positions, and more!

 

This is the perfect class if you’ve never fired a gun or are a new shooter. This course will give you a solid foundation in firearm safety and basic shooting skills which you can build upon in more advanced classes.

 

This course also qualifies you for your Connecticut and Florida resident or non-resident pistol permit licenses; and is the prerequisite for the NRA Pistol Instructor (300) Course.

This eight (8) hour class teaches students the NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; rifle parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest, prone, sitting, standing, and kneeling positions; cleaning, and continued opportunities for skill development.

This is a great beginner rifle class to learn the basics or refresh your skills. This class is also a prerequisite to be an NRA Certified Rifle Instructor.

The Refuse to be a Victim (RTBAV) Seminar is not a firearms or self-defense class. It is a seminar that will help you improve your personal safety strategies and will provide you with valuable information that you can apply in every area of your life.

 

We cover a broad range of violent crimes, property crimes, motor vehicle theft, and discuss ways to protect what is valuable and dear to you! This three (3) hour class focuses on the pump action shotgun and its time-tested reliability and effectiveness as a tool for self-defense. This course explains the operation of the shotgun, advantages and disadvantages when using it for self-defense, shotgun manipulations, ammunition types and more. We then move to the range to conduct loading, unloading, malfunctions drills, and live-fire drills. 

 

This class is for the shooter who has never fired a shotgun or is new to using a shotgun for self-defense. You will learn several important shooting skills and shotgun manipulations to build upon in future classes.

Transition from Rifle to Pistol. This intermediate course will take your carbine rifle skills to the next level while implementing pistol shooting skills during your course of fire. This curriculum builds on Carbine Rifle 100 and Carbine Rifle (101) Class and includes numerous rifle to pistol transition drills that will increase your shooting ability and skill set.

Required prerequisites: Carbine Rifle (100), Carbine Rifle (101), and Ready, Set. Draw (200) classes.

CARBINE RIFLE (201) CLASS

Shooting from Cover. Continue to build on your Carbine Rifle skills with this intermediate class that will sharpen your techniques, teach you new skills, and build on your transition from rifle to pistol skills taught during the previous class.

Our Carbine Rifle (201) Class incorporates shooting from positions of cover and includes a variety of techniques that will help you be successful while moving to and shooting from cover. Engaging a threat from multiple positions of cover is also discussed and numerous shooting drills from positions of cover are included.

 

Required prerequisites: Carbine Rifle (200) Class.

CARBINE RIFLE (202) CLASS

Moving & Shooting Our Carbine Rifle (202) class builds on our previous carbine rifle classes and introduces the concept of moving and shooting to and from positions of cover. Students must have a solid understanding of the fundamentals and concepts in our previous Carbine Rifle classes and firearm safety is paramount at all times.

These intermediate classes are designed for those that have put in the hours practicing the previous skills taught in the prerequisite classes and are ready to be challenged to perform under stress.

Required prerequisites: Carbine Rifle (201) Class.

Required equipment: Eye and ear protection, carbine/AR-15 rifle, a reliable sling, one (1) rifle magazine pouch, a pistol (you are familiar with), an OWB Kydex holster, a reliable belt or battle belt, at least 2 pistol magazines, two (2) pistol magazine pouches, 50 rounds of pistol ammunition and 150 rounds of rifle ammunition.

NRA PERSONAL PROTECTION IN THE HOME (200) CLASS

This eight (8) hour course teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude essential for safe and efficient use of a handgun for protection of self and family in the home!

Students will learn basic defensive shooting skills, strategies for home safety and responding to a violent confrontation, firearms and the law, how to choose a handgun for self-defense, and continued opportunities for skill development.

Required prerequisites: NRA Basic Pistol Course, NRA FIRST Steps Course, NRA pistol competitive shooting qualification card, or military DD 214 with pistol qualification.

DEFENSIVE HANDGUN (200) CLASS

This four (4) hour class reviews firearm safety, shooting fundamentals, and is specifically designed for those who may use a firearm for lawful self-defense. We focus on shooting drills, re-loading, clearing malfunctions, verbal commands, scanning and using a firearm as a last resort for protection of yourself or others.

 

This class focuses on using a firearm for the lawful self-defense of you or your family. Learn how to use your handgun to give yourself the best chances of stopping a threat and saving a life… especially your own! If you completed our Ready, Set, Draw (200) Class, you will be allowed to use your holster for this class.

DEFENSIVE HANDGUN (201) CLASS

This four (4) hour class contains a review of firearm safety, and then builds on clearing malfunctions, verbal commands, and scanning. From there, the student will learn additional shooting drills and skills with a focus on shooting as fast as you can be accurate. We also do an introduction to alternate shooting positions and shooting from behind cover.

 

Students should have a firm grasp on the skills taught in both a beginner shooting class (example: NRA Basic Pistol class) and the skills taught in our Defensive Handgun (200) Class. If you completed our Ready, Set, Draw (200) Class, you will be allowed to use your holster for this class.

READY, SET, DRAW (200) CLASS

This three (3) hour class teaches the proper drawing technique from a holster, reholstering, shooting drills, shoot/no shoot situations, verbal commands, and more. We also examine a variety of holsters; carry positions, firearms selection, and clothing considerations for future concealment classes.

 

For the law-abiding citizen, it can be a challenge to learn the proper draw then have an opportunity to practice it at a range. This class gives you the opportunity to practice the draw and fire your gun under the supervision of trained professionals in both shoot and no-shoot situations.

 

Required prerequisites: Any (100) level live-fire class and a strong understanding of firearm safety and shooting skills.

Required equipment: A firearm you are familiar with, 2 magazines, approximately 150 rounds of ammunition, eye, and ear protection, a sturdy belt, and an OWB Kydex holster are required.

DRAWING FROM CONCEALMENT (201) CLASS

This three (3) hour class teaches the proper drawing technique from an IWB Kydex holster from your dominant side, safely reholstering, shooting drills, shoot/no shoot situations, verbal commands, and more. We also examine a variety of concealed carry positions and the advantages and disadvantages of each.

For the law-abiding citizen, we give you the opportunity to learn a crucial skill directly related to lawful concealed carry. We include drawing from concealment for both an open garment and pullover/sweatshirt as well.

 

Required prerequisites; Ready, Set Draw (200) Class.

Required equipment: A firearm you are familiar with, 2 magazines, approximately 150 rounds of ammunition, eye, and ear protection, an open garment (coat) and sweatshirt, a sturdy belt, and an IWB Kydex holster are required.

ONE-HANDED SHOOTER (200) CLASS

This is a three (3) hour course that reviews firearms safety, grip, stance, and then we are off to the range. We concentrate on your dominate hand only and support hand only shooting, teach single hand reloads with your dominate hand, and run through a number of single hand shooting drills that will improve your overall shooting skills.

This is a three (3) hour course builds on our One-Handed Shooter (201) class and incorporates the use of a holster during the shooting drills. We also incorporate CQB, point shooting, and lateral movements into the shooting drills.

 

Required prerequisites: One-Handed Shooter (200) and Ready, Set, Draw (200) Class.

Required equipment: A firearm, 2 magazines, approximately 150 rounds of ammunition, a sturdy belt, and OWB Kydex holster, eye protection, and ear protection.

Our drawing from the holster clinic will give you additional skills and drills to improve your drawing and shooting with a variety of additional skills introduced in each clinic! This clinic includes shoot and no shoot scenarios and multiple shooting drills that apply to lawful self-defense situations.

Required prerequisites: Ready, Set, Draw (200) Class.

Required equipment: A firearm you are familiar with, 2 magazines, approximately 100 rounds of ammunition, eye, and ear protection, a sturdy belt, and an OWB Kydex holster are required.

LAW ENFORCEMENT SERIES

Introducing our Law Enforcement (LE) Pistol and Carbine Rifle Series!

These classes are designed for members of law enforcement by members of law enforcement. Our LE instructors have decades of experience working in the field as patrol officers and SWAT operators and they understand the unique situations law enforcement officers face on a daily basis.

Our LE instructors also have decades of experience teaching officers pistol, rifle and shotgun skills, use of force techniques, de-escalation strategies, and SWAT tactics to address a variety of situations. Whether it’s shooting under stress, training in low-light environments, moving and shooting, or other advanced skills, we have the experience to help you become a more proficient and educated officer and operator.

Our LE instructors understand the difficult challenges law enforcement are faced with when attempting to deescalate potentially violent encounters. They also understand the importance of avoiding the use deadly force when possible or using deadly force when needed. Let our LE instructors bring your skills and abilities to the next level with their decades of knowledge and experience!

To attend these classes, you must have graduated from a municipal, state, federal, tribal or correctional academy.

LEOSA QUALIFICATION

This two (2) hour course is for retired law-enforcement officers who need to fulfill their yearly LEOSA carry qualification. We conduct a classroom refresher on firearm safety, shooting techniques, and Rhode Island law. After that, we move to the range to shoot the ARMY L qualification course.

 

You will get three (3) attempts to pass the Army L qualification and upon successful completion, you will be certified with the caliber of gun you use. You will also receive a LEOSA qualification card as proof of certification. Our LE Pistol (100) series is designed to reaffirm and sharpen your firearm safety, drawing, loading and reloading skills. After a review of those techniques, we move into clearing phase one (1) and phase two (2) malfunctions and conduct a number of shooting drills that incorporate those skills, along with the importance of verbal commands, reacquiring your sights after shooting, scanning, holstering and much more!

Required prerequisites: Active law enforcement officer.

Required equipment: Department issued firearm, duty belt, three (3) magazines, eye and ear protection.

LAW ENFORCEMENT CARBINE RIFLE (100) COURSE

Our LE Carbine Rifle (100) series is designed to reaffirm and sharpen your firearm safety, rifle presentation, loading and reloading skills. After a review of those techniques, we move into clearing phase one (1) and phase two (2) malfunctions and conduct a number of shooting drills that incorporate those skills, along with the importance of verbal commands, reacquiring your sights after shooting, scanning, and much more!

Required equipment: Department issued or personally owned carbine rifle, three (3) magazines, sling, duty belt, plate carrier or vest if used, 150 rounds of ammunition, eye protection and ear protection.

Required prerequisites: Active law enforcement officer.
